Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari arrives the Rigasa Train Station in Kaduna state

- The Nigeria Railway Corporation is expected to deploy them to their stations immediately
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, January 4, arrived the Rigasa Train Station in Kaduna state.
The president commissioned 10 new coaches and two locomotives for Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge rail lines in Rigasa, Kaduna state.
The additional coaches and locomotives are expected to ease the plight of passengers on the route.
A total of 6,287 passengers travelled through the route between Thursday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 26.
its was reported that one locomotive will be installed at the Rigasa station in Kaduna, while the rest will be installed at the Idu and Kubwa stations in Abuja.
The Nigeria Railway Corporation is expected to deploy them to their stations immediately after the inauguration.
President Buhari during the commissioning said: ' 'I am glad that this service has since become the preferred mode of transportation for commuters on this route.' '
'We are looking forward to this facility driven by the private sector and we are working on strengthening all legal frameworks.''
''We are already in negotiations for concessioning by a consortium led by General Electric.''
The minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi said: "This is clear commitment of this administration to build key national infrastructures. We are committed to the revitalization and modernization of our railways nationwide."
