Gunmen attack Kaduna community, kill policemen, abduct two brides

Two policemen and an official of the National Union of Road Transport Workers were killed in Kaduna on Thursday, April 12
- The incident happened in Ciki Da Falo, a village in Birnin Gwari local government area of the state
- Fifteen people, including two brides, were said to have been abducted
Tragedy struck in Ciki Da Falo, a village in Birnin Gwari local area of Kaduna state as two policemen and an official of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), were shot dead on Thursday, April 12.
A resident who craved anonymity disclosed that 15 people, including two brides, were abducted. He said that the incident happened around 5pm on Thursday, The Cable reports.

9jahitplay.com notes that the state police commissioner, Austin Iwar, confirmed the incident but did not give details.
It was learnt that the officers were killed at a checkpoint in the community.
Birnin-Gwari has been experiencing armed banditry, cattle rustling and kidnapping in recent times.
The emir of Birnin Gwari, Zubairu Gwari, asked his subjects to defend themselves against those invading their communities.
He said: “We can’t be fools to wait for somebody that will not come. Nobody can stop me from telling my people to protect themselves. And that is what we are doing now because the policemen that are in Birnin Gwari cannot protect.
"The soldiers that are being brought come and sometimes make matters worse. I am also appealing to the president to come and see things for himself, because we are also Nigerians."
