The loud silence of the number one on the Media defence line of Ayodele Fayose, Lere Olayinka in recent weeks must stop NOW.

He must react to the story below or I'll take it as the truth and that'll be unfortunate.

Lere Olayinka cannot duck now. He has gone too far to abandon his paymaster.

"The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has met with some Leaders of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) affirming the inevitability of his defeat and pleading that he should be supported to contest for the post of a Senator.

Mr Fayose was said to have made this decision in the face of his imminent defeat and rabid fear of prosecution by the authorities.

“His thinking is, being a Senator will confer on him the  status of  “unofficial immunity” though not recognized by law.”

This is contrary to statements credited to Mr Ayo Fayose that the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Leadership came to negotiate with him on the July 14 poll.

Irohinoodua can authoritatively report that it was actually the other way round.

Fayose held secret meetings with top APC Leaders in Lagos.

He came in a black Jeep. The meeting held between 2am and 4am and he still returned to Ekiti that morning.

He shocked his hosts because he came with his wife and son, the usually reliable source said.

Our correspondent was reliably informed that Mr Fayose actually had the secret meetings with two top APC Leaders in Lagos where he pleaded that the APC leadership should allow him to contest for the Senatorial seat in Ekiti Central, the offer which APC Leaders rejected.

The source hinted that Fayose was on his knees pleading that he was certain of defeat on July 14 and that he should be supported to contest for the  Senate seat.

“It’s true that Mr Fayose was putting intense pressure on  the APC Leadership.

He called Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu several times and also sent strong delegation to Chief Bisi Akande.

The two Leaders ignored him.

He was pleading that he should be allowed to contest for the Senate.

He said he was sure his surrogate, Mr Olusola Eleka will lose the July election.”

The source said Fayose later secured an appointment with three APC top Leaders in Lagos on a Sunday.

Our correspondent was informed that Mr Fayose had brought in some election experts from South Africa who after conducting scientific survey in Ekiti, they told him that he was certain to lose the election with a wild margin.

The source said: “He said it and if he is not careful we shall release the video clip taken secretly.

He was begging here. I was the one that gave him handkerchief to clean his eyes. He was shivering like jelly.

He said the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Chairman in Ekiti State had deserted him and that his popularity has nosedived beyond redemption.

He was begging and crying.

We were surprised that he turned the story around that the APC came to negotiate with him.

Maybe he thought we would go to the Press with the story that he came to beg the APC Leaders.”

The source said Fayose even requested to meet with the APC Candidate, Dr Fayemi saying he was ready to prostrate for him.

“We actually made contact with Dr Fayemi and he spoke on phone to him begging that he should forgive him.

Unfortunately, Dr Fayemi was not in the mood to either talk to him or meet with him.”
