EVENTS - SOCIAL MEDIA TAKES CENTER STAGE AT THE OXYMORON OF KENNY BLAQ 3
Last Sunday at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, frontline stand-up comic Kenny Blaq held the third edition of his eponymous comedy show ‘The Oxymoron of Kenny Blaq.’ After recently selling out the O2 Arena in London, there was little doubt that he would repeat the feat at the iconic Eko Hotel venue, but apart from his performance, it was the guest performers who became one of the biggest stories of the night.
The show has been known to serve as a platform for social media comedy skit making talent over the past two editions and this edition was no different, with a thrilling performance from EmmaOhMyGod, Peteru, Kelvin Sapp, Ovy Godwin and many others. Also featured on the night were Ghanaian internet sensation Mr Eventuary, Taaoma, Intelligent Tope, Nedu, Lasisi Elenu and Ikorodu Bois among others.
Apart from the guest appearances, Kenny Blaq’s headline performance also made lengthy reference to recent trending topics on social media. The online comedy ensemble then staged a comedy-drama depicting topical issues like the #EndSARS movement and the conversation around internet fraud, among others.
The night concluded with the #FeelTheBruhmChallenge, which saw a lucky fan @Nastyblaq win Two Hundred Thousand Naira and a Bruhm 58 4k smart LED TV courtesy of Bruhm Nigeria, while @topsy_yo won a gas cooker as the Top Female Comedian and @ebubeacha won a Bruhm 32” LED TV as the Top Fan of the competition.
