See how Task Force Destroys Illegal Market, Scatters Bowls Of Live Cat Fish, Food in River State

A team of task force working for the Rivers
State Government to sanitize the roads, and
stop illegal trading, allegedly destroyed
Rumuokoro Market, in Obio/Akpor LGA,
scattering goods including bowls of catfish.
According to an eyewitness, the team
allegedly threw away coolers of food
belonging to a vendor.

A source posted this on social media,

"What i saw today ehh, this guys work like anti Christ, Very energetic and stubborn..
The  means of operation is so wicked, A woman that sells Yoruba food, with no hope of survival had all of her food thrown away on the ground, I felt very bad especially tye manner the act was carried out .. To bad..
Even if laws have been made for this purpose condemning street or road side marketing, such law would make provisions for punishment in cases of violation..
This may include payment of fines or detainment.
I believe it does not extend to destruction or confistication of the goods ..Such act is devilish..
Most of this people lack this but they find joy in destroying"

Another eyewitness, Obiaruko Ndukwe posted
some photos on Facebook and wrote:

"This is not North East but Rivers State,
precisely Rumuokoro Market, Obio/Akpor LGA.
What you are looking at is the Task Force set
up by the Governor to sanitize the Roads,
stopping illegal trading.

A whole Basin of Live Cat Fish thrown on the
ground by the Task Force who were prancing
around with Axes and Matchets.

They unleashed violence unrestrained all in
the name of doing their job.

What a way to treat those who voted you into
power!

This is sad! In a 21st Century Nigeria"
