Shocking as Man allegedly kills his two children and mother in Anambra

A 47 -year - old man has reportedly killed his two children and his 85 - year -old mother in Anambra State.

The incident happened in Nnewi , in the Nnewi Local Government Area of the state around 11 .55 pm on Thursday .
He also injured three of his children who were said to be in critical condition in a hospital.
The suspect was said to have attacked the victims in the sleep with a machete .
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer , Haruna Mohammed , who confirmed the incident on Friday said the suspect had been arrested .
The PPRO said, ” On Thursday at about 11 : 55 pm , Police operatives attached to Nnewi Division arrested one Emeka Ezimadu , 47 , of Okpuneze Uruagu in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State .
“ Suspect allegedly ran amok in a circumstance yet to be ascertained ; attacked and killed two of his biological children namely Ifechukwu Ezimadu , 9 , Mmeso Ezimadu , two years, and his own mother one Agnes Ezimadu , 85 , years of same address allegedly with a cutlass while they were sleeping .

“ Suspect equally used the same offensive weapon and injured his three other children namely Nonso Ezimadu , 12 , Chinaemerem Ezimadu , 1 , and Ngozi Ezimadu 8 years old of the same address.
“ Police detectives visited the scene and rushed victims to the Akwudo hospital for medical attention where the two children and the aged mother were certified dead by a medical doctor while the three other children are receiving treatment .”
Mohammed said victims ’ corpses had been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy and case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department , Awka for discreet investigation .
