BOXING: GOLDEN BOY DEFEATED AZEEZ AYOBAMI AT THE GOTV NIGHT IN IBADAN YESTERDAY (PHOTOS)

 Unbeaten Sodiq "Golden Boy" Oyakojo defeats hometown favorite Nigerian ranked number nine lightweight contender Azeez "Latest" Ayobami by majority decession Saturday June 4, 2022 on GOTv night at Liberty Stadium.

Oyakojo, a last-minute replacement, proved to be a better boxer, improving his pro boxing record to (2-0) 1 KO. 

Alaba "Elibow" Omotola, who was also unbeaten with a pro boxing record of (3-0) 1KO, was scheduled to face Azeez "Latest" Ayomide, but the deal fell through due to a lack of proper agreement. Omotola is expected to return to the ring on July 2, 2022, at the Alake Sports Complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. This card is expected to attract many of the country's top boxers. In 2019, GOTv named Omotola one of the best boxers in the country. 

He has remained unbeaten to date. Omotola, as a sports ambassador, is raising funds in Akure, Ondo.
