It was like a carnival at ilupeju Ekiti on 6th October, 2022 as the community rolled out drums to send-forth Regent Mojisade Oniyelu as she completes her Regency tenure.

Apeju’s palace was filled to brim as sons and daughters of the community, Apeju- in -Council, traditional rulers, IDA Home Based , police force, Members of Christian Association of Nigeria, ‘Egbe Omowa’, Chiefs and youths thronged the palace to celebrate and appreciate officer/ Regent Mojisade Oniyelu for her brilliance, fearless, diligence, commitment to sustaining the peace, unity and progress of Ilupeju Ekiti during her reign.

During her 2 and half months on the throne, Ilupeju Ekiti enjoyed relative peace, the town did not disintegrate, and the processes for the installation of new Apeju of Ilupeju Ekiti was carried out peacefully to the admiration of not only indigenes and inhabitants of Ilupeju Ekiti but neighbouring towns in Ekiti State and environs were astonished for the great love that radiates in the town. To cap it all, the love and unity on 30th September 2022 earned Apeju’s throne an upgrade to a grade’ A’ Oba by Governor Kayode Fayemi and the appointment of His Royal Highness, Sunday David Awe as the new Apeju of Ilupeju Ekiti.

Regent Mojisade Oniyelu, a police officer, a lawyer, a talented orator, a
counsellor and a friendly Princess finds it seamlessly easy to relate with the children, youths and the elderly. In fact, she is a good manager of people.

Oba Makanjuola Ajaja, The Owatapa of Itapa Ekiti, Oba Adedayo Jemilehin, The Onise of Odo-Oro Ekiti and Oba Femi Aribisala Obenbe, The Alaaye of Oke Ayedun Ekiti attended the send forth ceremony.

The monarchs appreciated Ilupeju Ekiti for the love that radiate among the sons and daughters of the town which according to the obas paved way for development in the town. The obas prayed for the peace of Ilupeju Ekiti and also for Regent Mojisade and wished her well in her career.

Regent Mojisade Oniyelu urged the town to cooperate with the new Apeju of Ilupeju Ekiti and sustained the love that bonds the town. She prayed for the rapid development of the town.

The Regent appreciated the cooperation of all the chiefs, Apeju – in-Council, Ilupeju Development Association,( National and Home Based), The Youths, Egbe ule, Egbesa, CAN/ Muslim members, her parents, all sons and daughters of Ilupeju Ekiti.

Among notable persons that spoke at the event were: The Asiwaju of Ilupeju Ekiti, Arch. Dipo Ajayi, Eyesorun of Ilupeju Ekiti, Chief Mrs Tolulope Oniyelu, Chairman ‘Omo Owa’ Prince Gbenga Oni, The Secretary of Apeju- in – Council, Onise of Ilese, The DPO in charge of Oye Local Government.They all called for continue peaceful co-existence of the town, they eulogised late Oba Olaleye Emmanuel Oniyelu for laying solid foundation of the town and they appreciated the Regent and prayed for her.

The governor of Ekiti State will tomorrow 8 October, 2022 present staff of Office and instrument of appointment to HRM Sunday David Awe at St Johns Catholic playing ground , Ilupeju Ekiti by 11 am.
