ONLY FIRM AND DECISIVE ACTIONS WILL HELP CROSS RIVER - ENANG
For Cross River State to regain its place as the literary Paradise, the State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu has been urged to take decisive actions always.
National Coordinator of Neighbourhood Coalition, a support group of the All Progressives Congress, APC said the many losses witnessed by the state require drastic or decisive actions to restore peace.
Although Enang emphasized that Diplomacy may also help in some cases, but his insistence on decisive actions, according to him "would recover all the loses.".
"In 2Chronicle 14:11-15,Asa took decisive actions by crying to God and subsequently pursuing to recover all the Ethiopians had taken away from the Isrealites. "So to cry and to pursue are two extreme actions required to overcome and recover what has been taken from you.
"What Cross River needs at this point is not subtle course of action, not Diplomacy even though Diplomacy is helpful to an extent, but what is required at the moment is a decisive and firm action to sanitize the way things are being done relative to governance and development of the state.".
He emphasized the need for a strong synergy between the Legislative and the Judicial Arms of Government with the Executive Arm, stating that the synergy would promote peaceful, healthy and momentuous achievements in the state.
"When the Governor insist for instance on evacuation of refuse from 7pm to 10pm,the Legislature and the Judiciary should also make strong statements through their responsibility to back up that directive.
"If someone violates the directive, then he or she has himself or herself to blame for that as they would be no compromise from any quarter on dealing with the issue,Enang maintained.
He stated that the Administration of Sen.Prince Bassey Otu has a tasking responsibility of restoring the state's 76 Oil Wells,Bakassi Peninsula, and many other lost assets and therefore require a strong will and decisive stance of the leadership.
