It’s Not in My Character’ – VeryDarkMan Denies Threatening Wike Over Land Revocation

Martins Ortse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has refuted allegations that he threatened the life of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following the revocation of a land allocated to the family of the late Colonel Paul Osakpamwan Ogbebor.

reports that the controversy began after a video surfaced online claiming Wike had revoked the property, originally allocated to the Ogbebor family in 1981. Shortly after, a WhatsApp broadcast message emerged, accusing VeryDarkMan of issuing a death threat against the minister.

In response, VeryDarkMan took to Instagram to categorically deny the allegations, stating, “I did not threaten Nyesom Wike’s life. I am not associated with the WhatsApp broadcast making the rounds.”

VDM explained that his advocacy focused solely on urging the minister to reassess the revocation by reviewing the supporting documents provided by the Ogbebor family. He emphasized the authenticity of the land allocation and the family’s legal claims.

“I was only appealing to the minister to take a second look at the land documents presented by the sons and families of the late Colonel Paul Osakpamwan Ogbebor, a war veteran and the first cadet of the NDA (Nigerian Defence Academy) with code 001. All the land documents and allocations are genuine,” he asserted.

VDM further clarified that the video allegedly linking him to the threats had been edited and captioned maliciously to misrepresent his stance.

“Someone edited my video with a new caption, making it look like I’m the one who did it. Please, I’m not associated with threatening anybody’s life; it’s not in my character or nature,” he explained.

Reiterating his commitment to justice, VDM highlighted that his platform is dedicated to advocating for fairness and supporting oppressed individuals, never resorting to intimidation or violence.

“What I do with my platform is to speak up for people who are oppressed and seek justice when they are on the right side of the law. I have never threatened anybody’s life. The only thing I did in that video was to plead that Wike take a second look at the documents because they are the rightful owners of the land,” he concluded.

This clarification comes amid growing public interest in the land revocation issue, as advocates and stakeholders call for transparency and fairness in the matter.
